Postdoctoral position on Development and Application of Short Wavelength Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (m/w)
You will develop the new Laser Laboratory with novel tabletop Extreme UV spectroscopy for chemical analysis. Your activity includes the further improvement of new spectroscopic methods and the application and patenting of such methods, ideally until technology transfer and publication of the results.
Research mainly utilizes short wavelength absorption and photoemission spectroscopy based on home-lab sources (e.g. plasma discharge and high harmonics sources) on samples relevant for materials science, energy technology or environment. Collaboration with large scale research facilities is requested. In an ongoing technology transfer project you will contribute to the development and operation of a deep-UV Raman spectrometer for chemical analysis of impurities in water and gases.
You are a highly motivated experimentalist with a PhD in chemistry, materials science or a discipline related to beamline spectroscopy or chemical analysis. You have proven hands-on laboratory experience with customized scientific instrumentation and vacuum technology. You are able to motivate graduate students and take responsibility for completing lab projects, which you will present in meetings, at scientific conferences, and in high-rank scientific publications.
