Sampler / Sample Preparer (m/f)

  • Formal qualification in minerals / chemistry / technology field is an advantage
  • Previous experience in inspections industry is an advantage
  • Understanding of inspection purposes
  • Knowledge in Quality Systems
  • Experience in sampling and sample preparation of minerals products is an advantage
  • Conducting sampling from various streams of the production lines, moisture determination and sample preparation duties on mineral commodities involving but not limited to operating various sampling and sample preparation equipment as: crushers, dividers, pulverizers, as well as packing and sorting samples in accordance with applicable company procedures, standards / client and / or company's instructions
  • Inspecting, sampling and testing and other operational work as required by the business unit on bulk commodities which will include weekend, public holiday and after hours work
  • Performs routine duties of a manual nature associated with the effective operation of the port and branch operations
  • Preparation of associated worksheets and documentation in hard copies and electronically
  • Job Coordination - Liaise with clients, suppliers and technicians to coordinate service, inspections and reporting of jobs, and follow up on completion to ensure client satisfaction
  • Service and Maintenance - Perform all duties in a professional and efficient manner to meet client satisfaction
  • Maintain and service equipment to ensure inspections can be completed in a timely manner
  • Quality Service Compliance - Maintain adherence to the SGS Quality System at all times during inspections
  • Time Management - Timely submission of all inspection reports/paperwork and full shipment details within the specified time as dictated by the client
  • Be compliant to all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures
  • At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
