Group Leader (Smog Chamber Group) (m/f)
You will lead our research activities on aerosol formation and transformation, mostly in the lab, i.e., using our smog chambers or within the CLOUD collaboration at Cern, but also in the field. For this purpose you will have a wide variety of instrumentation available, including state of the art mass spectrometers for on-line characterization of gases, clusters, and aerosol particles. You will guide and advise the group members in performing cutting edge research and contribute to the teaching of the Laboratory at University level. Together with the Laboratory head and one other staff scientist you will maintain and further develop a vibrant research program, interact with a large international community, and acquire the external funding for postdoctoral fellows and phd students (currently 4 and 5, respectively).
You have excellent and documented research experience in secondary organic aerosol processes as well as in mass spectrometry and chemical ionization techniques. Experience in supervising PhD Students an Postdoctoral Fellows in their research as well as in their personal and career development is also essential.
