Production Engineer (m/f)

  • Bachelor degree in engineering from college / university or technical school (Chemical engineering degree preferred)
  • More than two years in a leadership role preferred
  • Develops and maintains production procedures, inspection plans, recipes, and Bill of Materials
  • Oversees daily production changes outside of procedural limits in order to maintain product quality
  • Owner of OEE tracking, leads action based reviews, and maintains tool to maximize benefit
  • Signs off on product transfers and new product development; leads approved trial efforts after development
  • Gatekeeper for Changes to Product and Process
  • Sign off on any proposed changes, MOCs for all changes regarding production process and product changes
  • Consider safety, quality, productivity, environmental, and equipment integrity implications of change
  • Work closely with ESHA, product management, and quality departments when initiating any change
  • Leader in Structured Problem Solving
  • Assess and clarify production issues by conducting investigations and gathering facts
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify the greatest opportunities to mitigate future issues
  • Develop technical and process solutions and plan for implementation, aligned with operations
  • Drive Operational Excellence
  • Coach on Clariant Production System best practices (OEE, 5S, Performance Management, etc.)
  • Understand how to identify waste and apply lean principles to eliminate waste, aligned with operators
  • Lead Clariant Excellence projects, using DMAIC as the framework, that deliver annual benefits
  • Leader of In-Process Quality Management
  • Lead development and review of SPC log sheets for improved process control
  • Train operators on SPC and work to create visual KPI metrics for performance dialogs
  • Develop solutions to reduce process variation and improve predictability
