Lab Supervisor (m/f)

  • Responsible for maintaining the color performance accuracy of all commercial product developments created in the Design Laboratory
  • Run various SAP reports, as required
  • Develop Spreadsheets and Work Instructions, as required
  • Cooperation with other Departments, Customers, Government Agencies
  • Assist Sales Department by providing technical contact/support to customer inquiries as needed
  • Work closely with Customer Service and Sales in determining color match schedule and ship dates
  • Assist in complaint investigations as needed
  • Coordinate technology transfer from R & D into commercial products
  • Responsible for product conformance with all Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulatory requirements, as dictated by the application of the product
  • Supervise the Color Matchers and Lab Technicians to ensure quality of work and daily productivity
  • Assign, direct, train and monitor activities of all positions within the Lab
  • Assist in maintaining discipline, morale and evaluating employee performance
  • Report problems affecting quality and recommend any corrective actions
  • Adhere to the Occupational H&S Act and Regulations, including Company H&S Policies, Procedures, Guidelines and Rules
  • Read the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) materials & attend HSE training(s) required for the position
  • Consult with the Technical Manager and the Safety & Environmental Officer (SEO) for position
  • HSE training and reading requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences (BS), Chemistry preferred, from an accredited 4-year university
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to pass annual testing for color evaluation using the Munsell testing kit
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Data entry experience in an SAP environment would be an asset.
