Technical Assistant (m/f)
You will build up and run the ice, dust and sequencing lab of the Excellence Cluster Origins from the ground up a at the Physics LMU campus. We have secured funding for the next seven years with a likely extension for another 7 years.
The ice, dust and sequencing lab facility (IDSL) will provide modern techniques of molecular analysis, high throughput sequencing, microfluidic experiments, 3D printing and basic low temperature experiments.
It is run by the Cluster Origins which is a cross-disciplinary enterprise between particle physics, astrophysics and Origins of Life research. The lab facility and will act as a crystallization point for experiments between labs. It will provide access to techniques which are very hard to establish by individual labs.
Investments of the lab are mini-cryostats with optical access, support for external radiation with electron and UV sources, preparations to link to the gene center sequencing facility, mass spectrometry with a new high resolution ion exchange ESI-Orbitrap and microfluidic platforms with optical precision 3D printers.
- Completed training as MTA/BTA or comparable training
- Possibly already work experience, laboratory internships
- Interest in working with PhD students independently
