Mobile plant enables smooth repair of water treatment

The chemicals concern Clariant, headquartered in Muttenz, near Basel, depends on trouble-free flows of its heating operation, which among other things takes care of the disposal of production residue and enables the production of fully desalinated water. The necessary repair of both installations responsible for those processes presented the risk that not enough fully desalinated water would be available for production. So the world's leading company in the field of specialty chemicals acted prudently. In order to secure the process, it ordered within 24 hours an Aquamove, a mobile water treatment plant of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies which is mounted permanently on a semi-trailer.

"Using the Aquamove plant enabled the repair of our ion exchanger line without us having to limit our internal supply of fully desalinated water," said Stephan Rode, Clariant Plant Manager. So the mobile system prevented an expensive stop to production. This mobile solution works according to the reverse osmosis principle. On-site at Clariant, only the connection of raw, pure and waste water and electricity was needed.
