LGC Standards distributes world's first hand-held automated analytical syringe
LGC Standards, Europe's leading supplier of reference materials, is pleased to announce it has secured a European distribution agreement for the award-winning and world's first user-calibrated eVol® analytical syringe, created and manufactured by SGE Analytical Science, Australia.
eVol® is a unique laboratory tool that delivers unparalleled accuracy, precision and reproducibility, by reducing human inaccuracy during manual liquid handling. It can be easily calibrated to ensure accurate dispensing at all times to comply with stringent laboratory standards (e.g. GLP, GMP, FDA).
The benefits of eVol® for laboratory technicians who manually handle liquids include improved results, workflow, safety for staff and resource savings. eVol® is the coupling of two precision devices: a digitally controlled electronic drive and an XCHANGE® enabled analytical syringe. The programmable digital drive enables user-independent liquid handling procedures which promote more efficient workflow scheduling and a reduction in the re-analysis of incorrectly processed or false positive samples. XCHANGE® analytical syringes are easily and quickly changed allowing them to be dedicated to individual liquids to prevent possible cross-contamination of reagents.
eVol® was recently selected as winner of a 2010 R&D 100 Award, which serves as a benchmark for excellence in many industries including manufacturing and biotechnology. The award acknowledges the top 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the market place over the past year. It was also nominated for the prestigious GIT Innovations Award 2010, pre-selected by an independent jury of renowned university professors from Germany.
Julian Mussett, Business Manager for Europe at SGE Analytical Science commented: "SGE Europe Ltd is delighted to work with LGC Standards as an approved European partner for the ongoing sales development of the new eVol® digitally controlled syringe. As the leading supplier of reference materials in Europe LGC Standards is ideally positioned to develop eVol® into this sector."
