Gilson and Perkin Elmer announce Strategic Partnership for Mass Spectrometry

Share:

Two of the largest Chromatography technology providers announced that they will collaborate to provide scientists and laboratory professionals in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets with new and enhanced solutions for fraction collection and liquid chromatography. PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on the health and safety of people and the environment, will develop a dedicated single quadrupole mass spectrometer (MS) for Gilson, Inc., an industry leader in purification systems for HPLC and SPE. By incorporating PerkinElmer's MS solution into their preparative chromatography systems, Gilson, Inc. will be able to use the specificity of MS to improve the efficiency of their customers' purification processes. As part of the agreement, Gilson will integrate PerkinElmer's MS technology with Gilson's LC and fraction collection technology through Gilson's proprietary TRILUTION® software with enhanced signal specificity, provided by the new MS. The use of MS detection provides additional sample insight as well as a high level of specificity that enhances the preparative system's efficiency. "PerkinElmer's expertise and commitment to MS, combined with their well-established reputation in Chromatography makes them a strong partner of choice," comments Dennis Claspell, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, Gilson Inc. "Our customers in Pharma and Bio segments demand expertise, reliability and performance. Through this reseller agreement, we will continue to provide Gilson customers with the best purification solutions on the market."

"We are pleased to see how the addition of our technology in the purification process is adding value for scientists in these important segments," notes Eric Ziegler, vice president, Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry, PerkinElmer. "This is just the latest win of our long term strategy to expand our presence in the global Mass Spectrometry market."
